D-Route 12 / Oder - Neiße - Cycle Route

The eastern-most German border region is the thinly populated plain river valley region. The largest city the route passes through, Frankfurt an der Oder, has a mere 60,000 residents. In the center part between Schwedt and Forst, the streets and railway lines already take course to the nearby metropolis Berlin. In the southern part of the route, starting from around Gruben, the bilingual signposts in the region reveal Germany's only ethnic minority, the Slavic-speaking Sorbs. There are no ascents, however there are some quite extensive industrial zones from past GDR conglomerates.

The view of D-Route 12 is currently being developed.
