Görlitz, the easternmost town of Germany, has been largely spared any damages resulting from the war. For this reason, it is an impressive and complete monument of Renaissance, Wilhelminian style and art-deco architecture. Germany's only art-deco department store is located at the town square Marienplatz. The little town of Zittau located at the tri-country border of Poland-Czech Republic-Germany boast an impressive market place with a neo-renaissance city hall.
