Upland Moor Mecklenbruch

The Upland Moor Mecklenbruch is the largest upland moor in Solling. The moor covers an area of 63 hectares of birch swamp forests and low moor vegetation and has been a conservation area since 1939. Vegetation such as peat moss, the carnivorous sundew, cranberries and other natural plant species grow here. Some insects such as the arctic emerald dragonfly and the little darter dragonfly are today only found in upland moors.
