Kaiserpfalz Goslar

The Kaiserpfalz (emperors' palace) was constructed between 1040 and 1050 and is a unique monument of secular architecture - a must-see for any visitor to Goslar. For over 200 years, Germany history was written here during the many imperial assemblies and court meetings. All walls of the "aula regia", the almost 800 m2 sized "Imperial hall" were decorated by historical painter Hermann Wislicenus in the 19th century with scenes depicting the history of the "Holy Roman Empire". During hourly tours you are told about the painting program and the exciting fate of the Kaiserpfalz throughout history.
